Working as a consortium partner with Urban Initiatives Studio, a comprehensive phased neighbourhood plan was created. The area included reconfiguration of the retail, commercial “high street” together with reconfiguration of an existing residential estate together with objective asset management review of existing property and existing infrastructure and public realm. This was combined with options study, phasing and viability assessments leading to a structured delivery framework. In addition to the mixed use, a new hospital is to be built and redevelopment will accommodate 1500 plus homes.
Dba was retained by the Council to support the procurement process for key development partners. Development is now well underway.
The commission included dba’s award winning C.A.R.T. initiative which was commended in the regional TPAS awards.
