What we did

Commissioned by St Albans High School for Girls, this project involved the remodelling of an existing building in a conservation area embracing raising the roof, inserting a new steel frame and mezzanine floor, refurbishing existing and creating new laboratories with additional teaching, staff and pupil amenities.

Designed by Bikerdike Allen Partners, these works involve a series of sectional completion stages to co-incide with key school operational dates and activities.

This complex project required detailed risk mapping linked to a diligent financial control to accommodate the inevitable challenges existing structures throw up when exposed.

Although the project is being delivered in a period of upward market trends, the project is being delivered within dba’s cost plan model.
